MIDNATTSOL captures the imagination of their fans for the third time by whisking them away to the magical world of Nordic legends and sagas. The band, spearheaded by vocalist Carmen Elise Espenaes, continues to refine their characteristic sound and delivers a new jewel to the Gothic Metal scene. "The Metamorphosis Melody" is a charming collection of songs that sway among the harder tendencies of metal and the soothing melodies of atmospheric bliss. Heavy guitar riffs and thundering drums meet the emotive vocal lines and dreamy interludes that Carmen makes her own, while the rest of the band, notwithstanding, ennoble the tracks such as "Spellbound" or the beautiful ballad "Goodbye" with their musical expertise. The special magic of "The Metamorphosis Melody" is masterfully accentuated by Markus Stock (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak) of Klangschmiede Studio E, whose know-how allowed each instrument and vocal line just enough room to unfold. MIDNATTSOL has created an impressive and very charming album, which shines as brightly and mysteriously as the aurora borealis.
